HeroPower's News

So I've been working on learning AS3 the past year. Took a lot of breaks due to schooling and, well, laziness. But it's the start of a new year and I have decided to dedicate the next year programming and to see how much I can accomplish in a year's time. I have always loved Flash and made tons of small animations (although my art has never been good which you can clearly see if you watch the two animations I have up here haha). Last summer I made a small demo game using math.random() code I had learned at the time from a book I was using to teach myself to code. Well at the start of this year I revisited the game because I really liked the concept of it. So I've been reworking the coding so that it can be playable to others. You see it's a turn-based game where players take turns trying to defeat the other. The original demo was single player so you were kinda just playing with yourself XD There are elements to it that make the outcome of the battle unpredictable which I'm hoping will make it enjoyable for players. I would eventually like to add AI to the game so that players can play solo against the CPU. Just haven't decided if I should launch the game as player vs player or wait until it has a 1 player option. Nonetheless, I am stoked about learning AS3 and am looking forward to where this new found passion will take me :)

My second full animation is up! Check it out here! Must say I am proud of this. Made it while still learning some new Flash techniques. I know it doesn't show any plot but there is one in the next episode. That is if you guys want there to be one! So rate and review and let me know what you guys think!

After my I'm Just A Kid animation I took 2 Flash classes at my local community college and just worked on building my skills. Then took about 8 months off of animating (guess school burned me out a bit) but now I'm back! Currently working on finishing up a new Zelda series I've been wanting to try out. Should be done within a week or two so check back soon!

I'M BACK!

Today is my birthday woo! Ok, not all that exciting, I'm 23, not much to look forward now except cheaper car insurance at 25, mid-life crisis, senior discount followed shortly by death haha.

I've been busy improving my Flash skills over the past 5 months. I took 2 Flash courses at my local community college and while they didn't teach me much that I didn't already know how to do it gave me a lot of practice with Flash which I might of not done as well otherwise.

What's in the very near future?

Been working on the first episode of a Zelda series animation I've been wanting to do since I learned Flash 4 years ago but I wanted to wait til I was good at Flash before attempting a Zelda animation because I wanted to do it justice and in my opinion I have with this nearly complete first episode so......keep a look out for it coming out very soon!

My animation "I'm Just A Kid..." was my first animation to survive the portal lol

I know I can make animations twice as good and now having made it through the portal I have a tremendous amount of inspiration to work really hard to produce an entertaining animation for you fellow newgrounders and it's all thanks to you guys!

Stay tuned..... :)
