This is stunning dude!

I'm in a computer game development program and while my passion is programming we also have to learn how to 3D-model. I've only been learning how to use Maya for about 15 weeks and I can't wait until we start learning how to model characters. I have so much more to learn though up until that point....my current 3D art here is proof of that :P

1600 responds:

Thanks, Maya is tough, Mudbox is fun cause it has much more immediate results

Wow you've come so far in such a short time! I can't wait until I get into character modeling! She looks amazing :D

jenninexus responds:

Thanks friend for your kind supportive words :-D I'm not done with the facial details or hair, but am now rigging her.. more soon!

Damn dude....with all of your crazy talent a video game company should offer you a contract to do concept art for them haha Your work is amazing :)

Rhunyc responds:

That'd be totally awesome! A dude can dream... :D

I love the color scheme/pattern of the skirt and top :) I've always wanted to try pixel art. What program are you making these with?

jenninexus responds:

Heya Hero, thanks for noticing my post & glad u like the color scheme :-D I'm using Photoshop CS6 for now, but out of all the tutorials I've been watching I saw a favorite for pixel art is Graphics Gale. I'll love to see what you come up with at any point.. I hope to collaborate on a pixel (or other) project sometime w/ others when I have more time, after recovering from an upcoming move / the holidays etc. The group efforts here are inspiring <3

Nice!!! I just bought this game yesterday haha :D I looked at all of your drawings dude and I gotta say I really like your style :) I tend to spend my free time teaching myself how to program (began at the start of this year) so I can make games but I really need to start doing more art - maybe even manage to get scouted here on NG :O Right now I just have some 3D art on my profile that I made in my beginner's 3D-modeling class I'm taking at school.

Well looking forward to more of your work dude :D

Kerzid responds:

Thanks man.
I will posting more soon!
Coincidently, you posting that comment is the exact time I got my camera fixed!
To be honest, I haven't actually played Don't Starve. I just like the style and characters (mostly the gameplay)
Also, here's how I make digital art:
Draw what I'm thinking with absolutely no reference and with a pen(no turning back)
Capture it with my "camera" (my cheap phone)
Then Refine it Photoshop CC.
Last, I color it in paint.net, AND WHALA!!
Done.

Larry! Jazza always creates such wonderful characters :D You did him wonderfully in this piece :) I really need to get back into drawing again. I'm not terribly good at it but I do enjoy it (especially drawing with charcoal). Right now I just have 3D model art on my page from things I've made in class at school but hopefully I can find time away from programming to start making more art. Keep up the good work dude :)

Rovertarthead responds:

Thank you so much man and hey Iv'e got great characters to come out as well. But yes we all love Jazza! You keep up your good work too!

This.....is epic! :D You should make a Dark Link piece as well (or Link and Dark Link in same pic). Your work kicks ass dude! :)

Rhunyc responds:

Thanks dude! That's an idea for sure. :)

Hell yeah! My favorite band! Love your style dude it's very crisp and vivid in a way that it just pops so well :D

PKShayde responds:

Thanks glad you like it and I like you taste for music \m/

What kind of game were you hoping to make out of this? I really love the art style :) You could PM me the details if you don't want to explain it publicly.

I was going to make something like dad n me or castle crashers only much shorter, but I always tend to overestimate my self so this game will most likely never happen. Also this was like 2 years ago so I've already given up on it.

You know for your age this is pretty damn good! You're already grasping the idea shading both in color and crosshatching which is something I've never been all that good at and I'm 28 haha I suggest with future work to take a little more time to focus on perspective and weight of your objects. The sword for example has both the blade and hilt "leaning" forward instead of one or the other.

Keep practicing and keep up the good work dude.

Alecg27 responds:

Thanks dude. I always had a problem with drawing swords. Thank you so much for your support.

Been teaching myself programming since the start of 2014. Making simple games for now but as my knowledge grows so will my projects!
